Annotation
The paper discusses historical sources and their importance for the study of the history of human society. The introduction indicates what the historical sources are. Then, the most important types of sources were listed by historical era with a basic division into the remains of material culture, written sources and sources characteristic of the modern era. The second part of the paper refers to the analysis of historical sources as one of the key steps in the historians’ work.
