Annotation

This study is devoted to the synthesis of a novel ion-exchange resin designated as PPM-1, possessing polyampholyte properties, via the stepwise modification of polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fiber with polyethylenepolyamine and monochloroacetic acid. The aim of the work is to develop a multifunctional sorbent capable of selectively extracting toxic heavy metal ions and toxic anions from industrial wastewater. The chemical structure of the synthesized material was comprehensively characterized using Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and its thermal stability was evaluated through thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). This research highlights the potential application of the resulting polycomplex in environmental remediation technologies and advanced industrial wastewater treatment processes.
