Annotation

Synthesis of [Co(bpy)(SCN)4]2+  complex carried and its photochemical  properties studies explored in both organic solvent and tetraethoxysilane based sol-gel membrane. TEOS based sol-gel membrane shown suitable matrix and cobalt dye retain its photochemical properties inside the pores of membrane.  Based on spectral changes in the sol-gel ma matrix, possible changes in molecular shape also discussed. Moreover, the sol-gel membrane confirm cobalt complex from photobleaching or degradation.
