Annotation

This article discusses lexical transformations and non-equivalent vocabulary in the Charlie Chaplin film “The Great Dictator". Special attention is paid to proper names, fictional toponyms, and the accuracy of their semantic meaning. Difficulties in translating puns, jokes, and humor in general are analyzed. The question of a more detailed and detailed translation of this film is raised.
