Annotation

In this study, a new polyampholyte containing amino and carboxyl functional groups was synthesized on the basis of the industrial anion exchanger AN-31. The physicochemical properties of the material and its sorption behavior toward Pb(II) ions were investigated. By controlling the content of functional groups in the polyampholyte, the effect of carboxyl group concentration on sorption capacity and on the ion separation process was evaluated. The results showed that the presence of both amino and carboxyl groups plays a key role in shaping the ion-exchange and sorption properties of the polyampholyte. The synthesized polyampholyte was shown to be a promising sorbent for removing heavy metal ions and perrhenate from aqueous solutions.
