Test automation in iOS development: implementation practices and their impact on production release stability

The article examines current approaches to test automation in iOS development and their influence on production release stability. It is shown that automation extends beyond an auxiliary QA practice and becomes an element of a team’s engineering maturity, affecting delivery predictability, release speed, and the reduction of regression risks. The study analyzes the levels of automated testing, criteria for tool selection, the integration of checks into the CI/CD pipeline, and the use of automation as a mechanism for release admission. Based on industry benchmarks and engineering cases, it is argued that the greatest effect is achieved through the systematic integration of automated tests into the release process and the evaluation of their effectiveness through post-release quality metrics.
