This article examines the crucial role of cultural awareness in foreign language acquisition and explores how cultural competence enhances communicative effectiveness. The study argues that language learning extends beyond grammar and vocabulary to encompass understanding the cultural contexts, values, and worldviews embedded within linguistic systems. Drawing on interdisciplinary research from applied linguistics, sociolinguistics, and intercultural communication, the article analyzes the relationship between language proficiency and cultural identity.
