Annotation

This article examines in detail the technology for producing catalyst supports using local mineral and industrial waste. The study examined changes in the molecular, chemical, structural, and sorption properties of natural aluminosilicate raw materials, such as kaolin, polygorskite, diatomite, and carbonate palygorskite, upon activation with mineral acids of varying concentrations. The sample composition, interlayer distances, stretching and deformation vibrations, thermal stability, and crystal lattice transformations were analyzed using modern analytical methods, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), infrared spectroscopy (IR), and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The results showed that acid treatment significantly increases the porosity, ion-exchange capacity, and sorption properties of palygorskite, and activation with 5% orthophosphoric acid is the optimal process mode. Supports prepared from local raw materials are environmentally friendly, economically accessible, have technological advantages and are considered as promising materials for the synthesis of import-substituting catalysts.
