Abstract: Basics of art market and the art business have been studied. Character of economic relations between main subjects of art market has been defined. Their roles and responsibilities in promotion and sales of art product and implementation of marketing communications have been determined. Most common forms and features of the relationship between artist and gallery in modern Russian art market have been identified.
