Abstract: Objective: to identify the specificity of the Latina cultural and gender identity transition through research of the language and discursive indicators of the identity evolution. Methods: sociolinguistic and intercultural analysis, discourse analysis, language contact and stylistic exploration, contextual analysis, selection and sampling, comparison, and generalization. Results: based on the sociolinguistic analysis and the outlined research methods, the mechanisms, key steps and results of Latina identity evolution are revealed; the article brings a linguistic and gender-sensitive insight into the identity studies; it is identified that assimilation is invariably accompanied by clash of cultures; acquiring a status of a dual culture citizen is a typical result of the Latina identity evolution process; it is brought out that Spanish sprinkles in English Hispanic writing can be used for the purpose of emotional coloring, to stress cultural differences, the newly attained feministic aesthetics and to imply the indivisibility of the American multicultural nation pointing at Hispanics as its part. Scientific novelty: for the first time based on the presented methods the innovative complex research is undertaken to the study of the national gender-sensitive character and identity through the prism of the language and discursive indicators of Latina identity evolution. Practical significance: the main results and conclusions of the paper can be used in research and teaching activities, specifically in theoretical and practical courses addressing identity studies, multicultural issues, and bilingualism.
